Second best duo in 2019 and second seed at this year’s edition of the Rio Open presented by Claro, Marcelo Melo and Lukasz Kubot will face veterans Pablo Cuevas/Fernando Verdasco at the opening round of the doubles’ draw.
Together, the Brazilian and the Polish have 13 ATP Tour titles. This will be the third time they play together at the carioca tournament.
Number one seed at the 2020 edition of the event in Rio, Colombian duo Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah will face wild-cards Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos, from Brazil.
Last year’s champions in Wimbledon and the US Open, the Colombians will try to win their third title in Rio.
This Saturday four doubles will play the qualifying for the last remaining spot at the main draw.
The Rio Open will take place at Jockey Club Brasileiro and in 2020 features five top-ten doubles’ players.
